The Tekeyan Centre Fund is once again carrying out its annual “Summer Camp” program, this year welcoming children forcibly displaced from Artsakh. A total of 32 children and their teachers from the Union of Artsakh Artists NGO, originally from Stepanakert, Martakert, and Hadrut, are taking part in the program. They will enjoy their seven-day summer holiday at the Aragats Camp in Meghradzor.
Launched in 2010, the TCF annual “Summer Camp” program was temporarily frozen because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the 44-day Artsakh War. The program gives children the opportunity to spend their vacations in the picturesque regions of their homeland as well as to become more independent and self-confident.
Beyond providing a memorable summer experience, the program plays an important role in bringing together children from different parts of Armenia and in fostering their intellectual, spiritual, cultural, and physical development.
Up to now, the “Summer Camp” program has had a total budget of more than AMD 34 million and has reached approximately 720 beneficiaries from Armenia and Artsakh. The program supports children aged 10–14 who demonstrate strong academic performance either come from socially vulnerable or large families. Through their participation, children gain new skills and knowledge, broaden their mind, and form lasting friendship.
The camp’s diverse programs include educational and recreational games, sports and cultural activities, Armenian traditional singing and dance lessons, as well as visits to historical and cultural sites. These activities make the children’s summer holiday both enjoyable and meaningful, while encouraging creativity, personal growth, self-confidence, and a stronger connection to Armenian culture and heritage. The camp helps children develop their individuality and provides them with unforgettable experiences.
